   The Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA) is a professional association made up of veterinarians dedicated to the advancement of animal health. Founded in 1905, the SCVMA is made up of more than 1,200 veterinarians (most in Southern California) who have met all the requirements for membership.

   The SCVMA's many programs include continuing education seminars and symposia of the highest quality for members. The SCVMA also works with local governmental agencies in the control of rabies through voluntary staffing of public dog anti-rabies vaccination clinics at which nearly 2 million dogs and cats have been vaccinated since the program was begun in 1955.
