Alvarado Pharmacy, believes in preventative care, which helps to promote a better quality of living and a longer life. Preventative care through our vaccination program can save you time and money by keeping you healthy so you or your family members don't miss out on work or your more important family time. We would like to invite you to read the patient literature on the vaccinations that we provide and at reasonable costs. In most cases your insurance will reimburse your cost that you have paid for these vaccinations. If you have any further questions after reading the patient information to the right, please call us and ask for one our of pharmacists in the vaccination program.
A quick summary:
- H1N1 (Swine Flu) Vaccination: as in the mid 1970's the Swine Flu or H1N1 virus has come back, this time reaching far more people faster due to increased global travel and common surface area such as computers that didn't exist in the mid 70's. But just as it was then, the H1N1 is still a contender for quick deaths among certain populations of people, namely the young and old. So please get your H1N1 vaccination A.S.A.P. especially if you have children or grandparents that need assistance getting to a vaccination clinic. READ MORE

- Zostavax (aka Herpes Zoster): A very painful skin rash, normally seen with blisters (aka Shingles). 1 in 5 Americans suffer from this preventable disease. READ MORE
- Gardasil (Human Papilloma Virus): This Sexually Transmitted Disease commonly known as 'genital warts'. There are more than 100 types of HPV's and 70% of them may lead to cervical cancer in woman. In a 1998 survey of 1,730 patient vaccinated in a community pharmacy published in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association, among those responding to the survey 1:
